Malibu Beach Best Restaurants

Nobu in Malibu opened in October 1999 in the heart of Malibu, just minutes from the beach.

Offering a cozy and casual atmosphere the Malibu location is one of the smallest of the Nobu restaurants. We feature an energetic main dining room and an enclosed patio, which require reservations that can be made up to one month in advance. The Sushi Bar and small Bar area offer full menu dining and are on a first come first serve basis.

Nobu Malibu is known for exquisite cuisine featuring Nobu Matsuhisa’s signature dishes such as Tiradito, Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeno, and Black Cod with Miso. We also have some Malibu favorites created by our Executive Chef Gregorio Stephenson including Ribeye with Yuzu Butter Truffle Sauce, Heirloom Tomato New Style, and Kobe Beef with Crispy Shiitake Mushrooms.

Geoffrey’s Malibu: A Recipe for a Classic Restaurant

Many ingredients combine to create a classic restaurant. First and foremost, it takes a grand beginning. A start that conveys a sense of pedigree and of great things to come.

Geoffrey’s Malibu certainly has met that standard. Located on the site of the former Holiday House, a resort/hotel/watering hole to the stars for decades, it was designed by world-famous architect Richard Neutra. It opened its doors in 1948, and immediately established itself as the ultimate destination, hosting the gods and goddesses of its day, including Frank Sinatra, Shirley MacLaine, and Lana Turner. Holiday House attracted more than just the crème de la crème of Hollywood, though-it also was the place where a then-unknown senator from Massachusetts by the name of John F. Kennedy began a lengthy affair with Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe.
Certainly, a classic restaurant had been born.
As one classic died, though, a new one was born. In 1983, Holiday House ended its glorious run when Harvey Baskin, a financier/gourmand/nature lover, purchased it and created what is known today as Geoffrey’s Malibu.

Tra di Noi Ristorante

“Italian eatery Tra di Noi is one of Malibu’s most popular eateries and Executive Chef Francesco Velasco is a big part of it’s enduring popularity.”

“Velasco describes his menu as ‘cucina autentica’ or authentic italian cooking prepared with passion. His pastas are handmade daily and he makes what many consider to be the tastiest pizza in town. He searches for the freshest cuts of meat and fish, and pairs them with winter staples like leeks, artichokes, wild mushrooms, eggplant and green beans.
For Velasco, the secret to the holidays is ‘cooking from the heart’.
